The coronavirus has greatly impacted the music industry, causing cancellations of concerts and events worldwide.
In order to keep la música en Español alive, Latin artists are getting creative on social media, performing live for their fans to bring them joy amid the stressful news cycle.

Red Bull Estados Unidos de Bass (December 4-19)
Red Bull announced the virtual 2020 edition of Red Bull Estados Unidos de Bass – a three-week celebration of Latin music across the U.S. The live stream series will showcase Latin artists and producers across five key cities: Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco.
The lineup includes Sky Rompiendo, Kali Uchis, Ovy On The Drums and La Doña, among many others.

Pepe Aguilar (November 27)
Pepe Aguilar presents “Mexicano Hasta Los Huesos,” a live stream like no other in celebration of culture, music, family, and tradition. Joined by his son and daughter Angela and Leonardo, as well as Mariachi El Zacatecano and the Azul Tequila band, the Aguilars will present 11 songs never before sung or performed by them. The virtual concert, taking place during the long Thanksgiving weekend, is in celebration of Day of the Dead held in early November. “Because we celebrate our loved ones one day but remember them always,” Pepe expressed on Instagram.

Dalex, Mariah Angeliq & More (November 20)
For its third episode, El Patio Tecate returns with another star-studded live stream, bringing some of the hottest urban acts of the moment. Celebrating the Latinx community, Tecate will host a virtual concert from the Wattles Mansion in Hollywood, featuring performances by Dalex, Mariah Angeliq, La Doña, and a special appearance by Tainy, who nabbed the 2020 Billboard Latin music award for producer of the year. Hosted by Natasha Martinez, the event will feature “a unique, interactive festival-going experience with a multi-cam and immersive Livestream that accentuates the live performances of a diverse urban lineup.”

Alejandro Lerner (November 20)
Celebrating more than 40 years of trajectory and his new EP, Argentine singer-songwriter and musician Alejandro Lerner is presenting his first-ever virtual concert in November, live from El Pie Recording studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lerner, who has worked with artists such as Celine Dion and Carlos Santana, will perform his greatest hits in addition to his new singles “Un Dia” and “Canciones en Cuarentena.”

Lunay (October 31)
A real treat for trick-or-treaters this year! Puerto Rican rising artist Lunay is set to kick off SBS’ “LaMusica Live” concert series on Halloween. Lunay will be live from Miami for this virtual performance set to take place at 8pm ET. According to a press release, the concert series will feature some of the “hottest” Latin artists in this virtual space to provide “joy and entertainment” to those in quarantine.

Francisca Valenzuela (Nov. 12)
Chilean singer-songwriter Francisca Valenzuela will perform “La Fortaleza: En Concerto” performing live the 14 songs that encompass her latest album. The event will be broadcasted from Los Angeles, California and can be viewed from anywhere in the world.

Alejandro Fernandez (October 3)
In an unprecedented, one-night-only event, Alejandro Fernandez will croon to his fans via a virtual concert on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Regional Mexican artist, who’s making the rounds with his chart-topping album Hecho en Mexico, will perform for fans in the U.S., Mexico, and Central and South America with the event called “America, a una solo voz.” Fernandez’s upcoming Livestream is part of OCESA’s Irrepetible series.

La Mosca Tse Tse (September 19)
Hunkered down in Argentina because of the coronavirus, La Mosca announced their first-ever livestream, dubbed #DeRamalloAlMundo. If you’re a Rock en Español fan, you won’t want to miss this virtual concert featuring some of La Mosca’s biggest hits, such as “Para no verte más,” “Todos tenemos un amor,” and “Yo te quiero dar,” to name a few.

David Kada (September 11)
Hailing from the Dominican Republic, David Kada is ready to make you dance at Club Casa with his fresh tropical melodies. Marking Kada’s first-ever virtual concert in 2020, the artist promises “a night full of good salsa music” during the free event.

Banda MS (September 1)
Kicking off the month of September, Banda MS teamed up with Uforia Music for an exclusive event part of the series Uforia en Vivo. Called “Banda MS En Intimo,” the free one-hour virtual event will feature exclusive footage, an interview, and live performance.

El Fantasma & Fuerza Regida (August 21)
El Fantasma and Fuerza Regida are set to kick off Tecate’s new monthly virtual concert series and community fundraiser “El Patio Tecate” on August 21, Billboard can exclusively announce.”El Patio Tecate” concerts, part of Tecate’s “Mexico is in Us” campaign, will take place from August through December with each event highlighting a different sub-genre of Latin music while offering fans a reimagined festival-going experience featuring a multi-cam and immersive livestream concert supporting both Mexican-American arts and culture.

Bronco (August 30)
If Bronco fans missed the norteño group’s live stream back in May, they’ll have another opportunity to watch Bronco from the comfort of their home. The upcoming virtual stream will be part of OCESA’s Irrepetible series, which according to a press release, is “a new way to live concerts” via digital shows and content where OCESA will present up to 75 artists in a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

Los Rabanes (August 29)
Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Los Rabanes will offer a virtual concert featuring many special guests including La Mosca, Azul Azul, and Los Pericos, to name a few. “Given the world situation, we had planned to do the concert in the Coliseo de Puerto Rico,” frontman Emilio Reguiera, said in a statement. “However we are preparing something very special, we will have many surprises, and we will take a tour of our entire musical career.”

La Santa Cecilia (August 21)
La Santa Cecilia invites their fans for an intimate “Noche de Bohemia,” where they will sing their biggest hits and interact with fans during a live chat. The exclusive event will take place on Friday, August 21 and anyone from all over the world can tune in for $7 a virtual ticket. Purchase here.
Ednita Nazario (August 15)
Puerto Rican powerhouse Ednita Nazario will host her first-ever Livestream in August. “My loves, I invite you to my first virtual concert via the new platform Spyntyx.com,” she announced on Instagram. Fans can enjoy Nazario’s greatest hits for an admission of $5.

Kany García (July 11)
Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García will perform a live virtual concert to celebrate the release of her latest album Mesa Para Dos. García will perform live from the Coca Cola Music Hall in Puerto Rico and fans around the world will be able to watch the stream via Live Pass Play. To watch the live stream, you’ll have to buy a ticket which can be purchased here starting today (June 26).
Latido Music’s Room Service At Home (every Thursday)
Latido Music launched its Room Service at Home series, including about eight episodes of Latin independent artists, such as Cheo Pardo and Salt Cathedral, performing straight from the intimacy of their homes. The episodes will air every Thursday on Latido Music. On Wednesdays, there will be Facebook Lives of Room Service with the participants, promoted by Latido Music. On each Facebook Live, there will be a space supporting a nonprofit organization in the United States in need during this critical moment of the COVID-19 pandemic.

VF7 (June 19)
Teen reggaetón artist VF7, and one of Billboard’s Latin Female Artists to Discover During Quarantine, will be showcasing her first-ever concert live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. VF7 becomes the second artist to host a virtual show from inside the renowned venue following Rauw Alejandro.

Carlos Vives & Ziggy Marley: A Conversation (June 14)
Carlos Vives and Ziggy Marley, together with the Providence-Eastern Caribbean-born artist, Elkin Robinson, will carry out a global conversation on “how music helps us to be inclusive” and “the importance of Caribbean music in the world.” The artists will also talk on how “El Hilo,” part of Vives’ Cumbiana album, came to life. The official music video will premiere right after the chat.

Celebrating the everyday heroes at the frontline of the global pandemic, Univision’s “Se Agradece” TV special will unite various Latin artists and celebrities to pay tribute to doctors, nurses, farmers, grocery deliverers, teachers, and others. The star-studded lineup includes Alejandro Fernandez, Alejandro Sanz, Calibre 50, Gloria Trevi, Juan Luis Guerra, Mana, Los Tigres del Norte, Rosalia, and many more.

CNCO, Becky G & More – OHM Live “Dream With Us” (May 29)

“Music Lives On” featuring Anitta and more artists (May 1)

Piso 21 is teaming up with Bacardi for a benefit virtual concert called “Juntos a Distancia.” The live stream will take place Saturday on their YouTube channel, where donations will be collected via Vaki.co for different Food Banks in Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Perú, Panama, and Puerto Rico.

“Mi Casa Es Tu Casa Live Music Series” by SBS Entertainment (April 24)
SBS Entertainment presents a one-hour, commercial-free live music series across some of SBS’s leading regional Mexican and Latin urban radio stations, such as El Zol 106.7 and La Raza 97.9, and LaMusica app. “Mi Casa es tu Casa” kicks off April 24 with performances by Pitbull and Calibre 50. Other artists confirmed include Maluma, Banda MS, and Sebastian Yatra, to name a few.
