Ariana Grande unveiled the futuristic music video for her steamy single “34+35″ on Tuesday (Nov. 17).
Helmed by Director X, the clip finds the superstar pulling double duty as a brainy lab scientist and the robot she’s bringing to life, who then transforms Grande and her team of trusty sidekicks into a troupe of ’60s-inspired dancers wearing pink, fur-lined baby doll dresses, velvet gloves and bouffant hairstyles.
“You might think I’m crazy/ The way I’ve been craving/ If I put it quite plainly/ Just give me them babies/ So what you doing tonight?/ Better say ‘Doing you right’/ Watching movies but/ We ain’t seeing a thing tonight,” she narrates on the track before performing impressively flexible choreography in a brown bodysuit and matching boots while flanked by her pals.
The flirtatious track serves as the second official single from Grande’s new album, Positions, following the title track of the same name — which earned the star her record fifth No. 1 debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. “34+35,” meanwhile, has already debuted within the Top Ten as well, bowing at No. 8 on the chart dated the week of Nov. 14.
Grande’s sixth studio effort also features collaborations with Doja Cat (“Motive”), Ty Dolla $ign (“Safety Net”) and The Weeknd (“Off the Table”), as well as fan-favorite album cuts like jazzy slow jam “My Hair” and heartfelt ballad “POV.”
