Despite a global pandemic affecting the music industry, Bad Bunny’s 2020 has not been too shabby.
This week, Bad Bunny earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo. The feat made history, as the album is the first all-Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 in the 64-year history of the all-genre chart.
“I dreamt it!!! I felt it!!! I always knew it!!!” the Puerto Rican star gushed in Spanish on Instagram, sharing a set of photos including a childhood throwback of him singing on stage and screenshots of his Billboard success. “I have no words, only thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!”
Marking his third studio album of 2020, the 16-set production becomes the fourth all-Spanish-language album to ever reach the top five on the Billboard 200 chart, in addition to his February release, YHLQMDLG (No. 2), Mana’s Amar es Combatir (No. 4; Sept. 9, 2006), and Shakira’s Fijación Oral: Vol. 1 (No. 4; June 25, 2005).
On the Billboard Year-End Charts, the “Yo Perreo Sola” singer was named Top Latin Artist and Top Latin Male Artist of 2020, for a second consecutive year. He also topped various charts including No. 1 Hot Latin Songs Artist, No. 1 Top Latin Album with YHLQMDLG, and No. 1 Latin Streaming Songs Artist, to name a few.
