Now get to work, beach! On Monday (Nov. 16), Britney Spears jetted off to Hawaii for an early birthday retreat with boyfriend Sam Asghari in tow.
“Felt like a little trip to paradise for an early birthday celebration !!!!!!!!! @samasghari,” the pop icon captioned a photo of herself posing with her longtime love in front of a private jet. Both are pictured wearing disposable surgical masks.
In another post, Spears showed off her artsy in-flight meal featuring a kaleidoscope of colorfully arranged fruits and veggies. “I’m doing that whole work on yourself thing at the moment!!!” she wrote alongside a number of food emojis. “PS … I wanted to get creative !!!” For his part, Asghari, whom the singer first met in 2016 on the set of her music video for Glory single “Slumber Party,” commented, “Sassy lady…okkkkkkkk” with a red heart.
After landing in Maui, the singer shared yet another post from her vacay — this time a pair of goofy selfies with her boyfriend. “We be like …… in Maui!!!!,” she wrote, mugging for the camera in a tangerine top, beaded choker and aviator sunglasses. “PS …. don’t mind my hair !!!! @samasghari.”
The early birthday getaway for the star — who turns 39 on Dec. 2 — comes just one week after the latest hearing in her ongoing case to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed as the designated overseer of her lengthy conservatorship.
On Nov. 10, Spears’ lawyer claimed in court that the she “is afraid of her father” and “will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.” The singer has been on an indefinite hiatus from her career since 2019.
