BTS has now spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, as its new LP Be debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (chart dated Dec. 5) with 242,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The seven-member South Korean superstars also score their third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as “Life Goes On” debuts at the summit. It follows “Dynamite” (No. 3 this week) and the act’s Jawsh 685/Jason Derulo collab “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” which reached No. 1 in September and October, respectively.

With its 13th week at No. 1, BTS extends its record for the most weeks spent atop the Artist 100 among duos/groups. BTS also surpasses Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran for the sixth-most weeks spent at the summit overall, dating to the chart’s 2014 start.

20, The Weeknd
15, Ariana Grande

13, BTS

Notably, BTS becomes the ninth act, and first group, to rule the Artist 100, Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts simultaneously.

Dating to the Artist 100’s launch in 2014, only nine artists have led all three rankings at the same time. Drake has achieved the feat in a record 14 weeks (most recently on Aug. 11, 2018, with Scorpion atop the Billboard 200 and “In My Feelings” atop the Hot 100), followed by Taylor Swift (eight), Adele (six), Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd (two apiece) and Camila Cabello and Kendrick Lamar (one each).

Swift was the last artist to achieve the trifecta, as she ruled all three on Aug. 8 following the release of Folklore.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
