BTS are well-placed to go where they’ve never gone before: to No. 1 on the U.K. singles survey.

The K-pop superstars are in a tussle for their first Official U.K. Singles Chart leader as “Life Goes On” goes head-to-head with Ariana Grande’s “Positions.”

Based on early sales and streaming data, “Life Goes On” is just 600 combined sales behind “Positions”.

“Life Goes On” is the most downloaded song over the first 48 hours in the chart cycle, and has amassed the most video streams, to slot in at No. 2 on the Official Chart: First Look.

BTS’ career-best on the Official U.K. Singles Chart is a No. 3 for “Dynamite,” the lead single from their new album BE. In April 2019, the lads went to the top with their fourth set Map Of The Soul: Persona, making history as the first K-pop act to secure a U.K. No. 1 album. They repeated the feat earlier this year, with Map of the Soul: 7.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is hurtling toward her seventh U.K. Top 10 single with “Prisoner,” featuring Dua Lipa. It’s at No. 6 on the sales blast. If it keeps its momentum, the track would give Lipa her 11th Top 10. The British singer also appears at No. 7 with “Levitating,” which is tracking for a new chart high following her performance on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show.

Another major pop collaboration impacts the top tier on the First Look survey, as Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber’s “Monster” opens at No. 10.

The Official U.K. Singles Chart is published late Friday local time.
