Dance Gavin Dance has announced a global streaming event, Tree City Sessions Volume 2, slated for broadcast at 7 p.m. ET on Dec. 19. The virtual event will feature the quintet performing a fan-voted setlist including tracks that have never been performed live before.
Produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, the band will play from their hometown at the Sacramento Tower Bridge in California. The bridge will be shut down for the concert as the group performs in the round with full production.
“We are poised to step up to the challenge of playing a fully fan-voted set, and it is an honor to be able to shut down traffic in the middle of the city to do it,” said Dance Gavin Dance singer Tilian Pearson in a release.
The event will also feature a very special pre-show, hosted by SiriusXM’s Caity Babs, which will guide fans on an exclusive walk down memory lane with the band around their favorite and most significant Sacramento spots from throughout Dance Gavin Dance history in association with Visit Sacramento.
“Sacramento has a deep history of prominent bands that call our city home and we’re excited to add Dance Gavin Dance to that list,” said president and CEO of Visit Sacramento Mike Testa in a release. “You can tell by their heartfelt words, and their energetic performance, that they love their hometown as much as we do and we’re proud to showcase them on the region’s most notable landmark, the Tower Bridge.”
The Tree City Sessions Volume 2 set will also be released as an album via Rise Records with vinyl pre-orders being made available to fans as a ticket bundle option. In addition to passes for the livestream, fans can also purchase bundles that include shirts, posters, vinyl and other exclusive merch. Tickets starting at $15 are on sale now with early bird pricing until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PT. Head here for more information.
