David Guetta and Sia rise to No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated Nov. 14) with “Let’s Love.” Guetta adds his ninth leader, the second-most since the chart’s August 2003 inaugural; only Calvin Harris and Rihanna have more, with 12 each.
“Love” is Sia’s first Dance/Mix Show Airplay No. 1 among 15 charted titles, spanning back to “Clap Your Hands” (No. 23, 2010). She’d previously charted as high as No. 2 in 2012 as featured on Guetta’s “Titanium.”
Airplay leaders on “Love” include core-dance affiliates KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, WZFL (Revolution 93.5) Miami and WCPY Chicago, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. (The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)
Additionally on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, Tiesto bolts to his 13th top 10 with “The Business” (11-5). Plus, Topic and A7S each earn a second top 10 with “Why Do You Lie to Me” (12-10), featuring Lil Baby, who earns his first.
On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Meduza and Dermot Kennedy bow at No. 9 with “Paradise.” Meduza’s third top 10 and Kennedy’s first drew 1.5 million U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the week ending Nov. 5. The latter figure is also good for a No. 6 start on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales list.
Speaking of Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, the Village People vault 11-2 with “Y.M.C.A.” The classic sold 2,000 downloads, up 116%, with its prolife boosted in recent weeks after being played at multiple campaign rallies for President Donald Trump to close out the 2020 electoral campaign.
The Village People achieve their first top 10 status on the chart, which started in 2010. That year, “Y.M.C.A.” charted for 12 weeks, reaching No. 40. The track was then absent from the chart for nearly a decade before returning at No. 24 this September. It has gained in sales every week since. In its original 1978-79 chart runs, “Y.M.C.A.” hit No. 2 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance Club Songs charts.
