For the past six years, Griz’s holiday initiative, 12 Days of Grizmas, has used caroling, bowling yoga, video games, music and other wholesome activities as a means to raise money for charity. This year, the producer isn’t letting the pandemic get in the way of a good cause.
12 Days of Grizmas returns December 12-23 for eleven days of online cheer. Taking place on Twitch and Zoom instead of Griz’s Detroit stoming ground, this year’s activities include craft cocktail making with Detroit-based mixologists, cookie baking with Griz’s mom, a board game night, an open mic night for which participants can upload videos of themselves performing and other cozy fun.

12 Days of Grizmas 2020 will culminate with a December 23 digital charity festival featuring performances by Griz, J. Worra, Destructo, AC Slater, Sunsquabi and more than 10 other unannounced artists.
Profits from Grizmas go to Detroit non-profit Seven Mile, which funds music, art and coding programs for inner city youth in Detroit. In the past two years alone, Grizmas has raised more than$200,000 for the non-profit.
“A while ago it was like, if I’m frustrated about something I’ll just bitch about it then continue doing my thing,” the producer born Grant Kwiecinski said of the event in 2018. “But then it was like ‘Something has to change, and nothing’s going to change unless I make something happen. So, I made something happen, and by doing it, it grew into this grander thing.”
