Thanksgiving is over, which means it’s time to dive right into Christmas cheer!
If you haven’t decorated the tree yet, now’s the perfect time to do so, while watching all the performances during the CMA Country Christmas special on ABC on Monday night (Nov. 30).
Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins will be making their TV hosting debut during the one-hour event tonight, which will feature CMA vocal duo of the year winners Dan + Shay performing “Christmas Isn’t Christmas.”
The party kicks off at 9:00 p.m. ET and in addition to hosting, Rhett will perform along with Darius Rucker, who co-hosted the 2020 CMA Awards, and will take the stage along with violinist Lindsey Stirling for a version of “What Child Is This?”
Other performers slated to appear on the show include: Kelsea Ballerini (“Santa Baby”), Gabby Barrett (“The First Noel”), Florida Georgia Line (“Lit This Year”), Lady A (“Wonderful Christmastime”), Little Big Town (“Christmas Time is Here” and Tim McGraw (“It Wasn’t His Child”).
CMA Country Christmas is in its 11th year. “The idea for this year’s show was to do a throwback [to] the great Christmas specials of the 1960s and 1970s,” said Robert Deaton, the show’s executive producer and writer. Paul Miller directed the special, which was filmed in September — without a live audience for the first time.
CMA Country Christmas is a production of the Country Music Association.
