Kylie Minogue scores her seventh No. 1 in her homeland, as Disco shimmies to the summit of the ARIA Albums Chart.

The Australian pop icon’s latest was partially cut at her home studio during the U.K.’s first lockdown, which means she’s credited as an engineer for the first time on one of her 15 LPs.

The album also rules the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart and it’s the best-seller in the U.K. this week, where she becomes the first female artist to rule the chart in five successive decades.

Disco “is a much-needed injection of fun in a challenging year, even if many of us can only dance in our living rooms,” comments ARIA CEO Dan Rosen.

“It is clear that Australians are still in love with our Kylie and it’s brilliant to see her back on top of the ARIA Charts.” It’s also the 15th homegrown title to rule the ARIA Albums chart in 2020.

Another ex-pat Aussie — The Kid LAROI – is making an impression at the top end of the chart. The hip-hop star’s F*ck Love rises 29-3 on the ARIA chart, thanks to the release of a deluxe edition. The mixtape, which returns to its previous peak, features seven additional tracks including “So Done,” which rises 16-7 on the national singles chart this week, and “Always Do,” the highest debut this week at No. 37.

The rising artist is nominated in several categories at next week’s 2020 ARIA Awards, including best male artist.

Meanwhile, Little Mix sprinkle Confetti on the ARIA Top 10. The U.K. girl group’s sixth studio album opens at No. 7 on the ARIA chart, having gone toe-to-toe with Kylie’s Disco in the U.K. for much of last week.

Further down the list, Ashton Irwin makes his first Top 50 appearance as a solo artist with Superbloom. Released in mid-October, the 5 Seconds Of Summer drummer sees his set rise off the back of its release on CD and vinyl. As a member of 5SOS, Irwin led the chart in April of this year with CALM.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, 24kGoldn’s “Mood” featuring Iann Dior returns to the summit after two weeks at No. 2. “Mood” is certified double-platinum and has logged five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1.
