British designer MJB brought together the worlds of fashion, gaming, sports and music for a fun new collaboration to celebrate the release of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.
MJB and Mortal Kombat teamed up with boxing brand Everlast to create a powerful campaign video featuring Megan Thee Stallion. In the clip, the rapper is seen in terrifying fangs, slaying the sword game while rocking a pink leather bodysuit. MMA fighter Michael Venom Page, DJ Dimitri Vegas and British rapper M24 are also spotlighted in the campaign.
The accompanying limited-edition capsule brings together Mortal Kombat characters in MJB clothing, featuring four variations of the designer’s signature masked hoodies with the game’s key characters, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden and Baraka plus the iconic Mortal Kombat dragon logo. The Sub-Zero collection was designed with Dimitri Vegas, who is also a playable character in the Mortal Kombat game.
Everlast collaborated with MJB to create co-branded Mortal Kombat and MJB t-shirts, army shorts and boxing shorts using upcycled vintage British Military fabric. Co-branded collectable items and accessories include hand-painted boxing gloves, head protectors and punch bags.
“The collaboration means a lot to me. It is our biggest and came about in the UK’s first lockdown. We have brought together the worlds of fashion, video gaming, music and sport with Dimitri Vegas, Megan Thee Stallion and Michael Venom Page,” said Marc Jacques Burton, the founder of MJB, in a press statement. “We are now launching it in the UK’s second lockdown. It has not always been easy, but I wanted to show myself and others that there are ways to adapt and still launch. It is so great to see the arcade pop up at Selfridges and it will be epic to see people interact and play the games.”
The collection is online and in store at Selfridges. Watch Megan stun below.
