Miley Cyrus is no stranger to a carefree photo shoot, and a new outtake from her Rolling Stone cover is no exception.

In the photo, Cyrus wears nothing but an unzipped leather jacket up top and flashes the camera. She posted the unedited pic to Twitter, while her Instagram post of the same shot has the Rolling Stone logo covering her breasts. “THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD COVER IT SO I WENT THE OTHER WAY,” she tweeted with a skull emoji on Friday (Dec. 4) when the cover story interview was published online.

It’s just Miley being Miley — and what’s even considered NSFW these days when much of the workforce has shifted to being at home?

Cyrus previously posed naked or topless on the cover of Rolling Stone back in October 2013 during her Bangerz era, as well as a covered-but-controversial April 2008 cover of Vanity Fair when she was just 15 (shot by Annie Leibovitz), the February 2014 cover of W magazine, the February and June 2015 covers of V magazine(one of which was shot by the late Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld) from her Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz era, the June 2015 cover of Paper, and the November 2015 cover of Candy — you know, just to name a few.

In the interview for her January 2021 cover of Rolling Stone, Cyrus opened up about not always feeling comfortable in her own skin and shying away from her previous eras in order to prove and re-prove herself as an artist. “I discredited myself for what I had been almost every step of the way,” she said. “During Dead Petz, discrediting Bangerz. During Bangerz, discrediting Hannah Montana. During ‘Malibu,’ discrediting Bangerz. It’s almost like when I have evolved, I’ve then become shameful of who I was before. What makes you an adult, I think, is being OK with who you’ve been before.”
