The saga between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun continues! On Wednesday (Dec. 2), eagle-eyed Swifties caught what they think could be an epic bit of shade thrown by the singer at the manager.

In the new Match.com ad directed by her pal Ryan Reynolds, a discarded scooter can be seen laying by a dumpster as a re-recorded snippet of Swift’s 2008 single “Love Story” plays over the scene. (The hilarious clip features Satan himself falling in love with a personified version of the year 2020 as the world falls apart around them.)

Naturally, many fans took the scooter to be a jab at Braun in Swift’s ongoing battle for control of her master recordings, which the music exec purchased in a landmark $300 million deal along with the rest of her former record label, Big Machine Records, in June 2019. He subsequently sold the masters to private investment firm Shamrock Holdings on Nov. 17 of this year.

“There is a scooter laying on the ground with a number 6 written on the wall in the commercial featuring Taylor’s new version of ‘Love Story’ likely hinting at the 6 albums she is re-recording,” one fan account wrote alongside screenshots of the ad, while another fan tweeted, “The fallen scooter. I love Taylor Swift omg.”

Others, however, surmised that the “6” on the wall specifically represents Swift’s 2017 album Reputation, which isn’t currently part of the contract stipulation that she can re-record her first five albums, as evidenced by the new version of “Love Story” in the ad.

This isn’t the first time a scooter has snuck into a visual set to Swift’s music either. In the video for her Lover-era single The Man, a “No Scooters” sign can clearly be seen amid in a subway station amid the graffiti’d titles of her past albums as the singer’s male alter ego arrogantly takes a leak on the wall.
