BTS are diving into the world of MMORPGs with a new collaboration on member Jin’s favorite game, MapleStory. The free, 2d side-scrolling multiplayer online role-playing game from South Korea’s Wizet in which groups of players get together to hunt for monsters and share prizes announced the collaboration on Tuesday (Nov. 24).
“Are you ready for the most monumental MapleStory crossover ever?! Is anyone more excited than us?! Well, maybe BTS is…” read a tweet from the game makers, which linked to a video preview of the K-Pop superstars freaking out about the gig in a room packed with game gear. In the clip, the guys sing the MapleStory theme song as they sit around a table and Jin gushes about how this is the day their “dream comes true” while deciding which weapons are their favorite.
Though they are still bummed they had to cancel their 2020 world tour, the boys have been keeping busy this week, performing their moving new ballad “Life Goes On” on The Late Late Show on Monday night, as well as rolling out a pajama edition on Good Morning America earlier in the day and a lush version in a Seoul stadium at the 2020 AMAs on Sunday night.
The video does not reveal the details of the collaboration.
