After months of predictions and theories, we’ll find out who scores nominations in all 84 categories for the 2021 Grammy Awards next Tuesday (Nov. 24). On the brand-new episode of the Billboard Pop Shop Podcast (listen below), Katie & Keith are highlighting top contenders and personal favorites in the Big Four categories: album, record and song of the year and best new artist.
So what are some names that keep coming up in our conversation? For album and record of the year, we like Dua Lipa (Future Nostalgia and “Don’t Start Now”), The Weeknd (After Hours and “Blinding Lights”), and Post Malone (Hollywood’s Bleeding and “Circles”), and we can see country popping up in song of the year (Maren Morris’ “The Bones” and Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope”) as well as best new artist (Barrett and Morgan Wallen). Plus, Megan Thee Stallion’s huge year could lead to a best new artist nod and/or record of the year for her “Savage” remix with Beyoncé.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg: Listen to our full chat below and stay tuned to Billboard.com for our full coverage of the nominations on Nov. 24.
Also on the show, we’ve got chart news about how Ariana Grande stays put at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her Positions album, while Pop Smoke’s “For the Night” returns to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after four months, thanks to a surge in radio airplay.
